Obituary for Suzan Mechell "Shelly" Campbell (Watts)

Suzan Mechell “Shelly” Campbell, 57, of Pampa, drew her last breath on Saturday, October 16, 2021, while her devoted husband, Donnie, sat at her side holding her hand. She graced this world with her presence on August 19, 1964, in Pampa at the old Highland General Hospital, the daughter of Pete and Jo Ann Watts.

After being born and raised in Pampa, Shelly did move away for a bit and lived in both Kansas as well as New Mexico for short stints before moving back 20 years ago. Not long after returning home, she met Donnie Campbell and following a courtship, they married on October 18, 2004. Shelly had a true zest for life, and she shared that with everyone, strangers were just future friends. Her joyous personality came forward in a love to sing, dance, music and SHOPPPING! Her love of family and friends will be missed by all who knew her.

Shelly was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Bobby Watts; a brother-in-law, Eugene Kimbrell and two sisters-in-law, Marilyn Sue Strawbridge and Janet Louise Townson.

She leaves to remember her spirit a loving husband, Donnie Campbell of Pampa; two sons, Robert Webb Allsup of Fort Worth, Greg Campbell of Mineral Wells; three daughters, Angela Nicole Allsup of Dallas, Dawn Marie Hawk of Fort Worth, Lisa Dawn Campbell Braddock and husband Pete of Childress; seven brothers, Randy Reed of Keller, TX, Louis Gene Watts of Tyler, TX, Doc Reed of Pampa, Roy Dean Reed and wife Kathy of Pampa, Terry Keith Watts of Arizona, Roy Albert Watts and wife Marion of Amarillo, Paul Stephen Watts of Colorado; six sisters, Carol Ray Loony and husband Ralph of Ardmore, OK, Rita Jo Kimbrell of Pampa, Beverly Jane Chinnery of Oologah, OK, Michael Ann “Kelly” Watts Wilhelm of Pampa, Laura Lynette Reed Williams and husband Galen of CO, Martha Renae Reed Knight of Keller; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild and a whole host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.

Celebration of Life Memorial services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 30, 2021, at The Carpenter’s Church, 639 South Barnes Street with Brother Jim Sinyard officiating. The family has entrusted the cremation care of their loved one to Winegeart Funeral Home.

Should donations be a preference, the family suggests they be made to The Carpenter’s Church, 639 South Barnes, Pampa, TX 79065, in memory of Shelly.
