Obituary for Mary Lou Chambers

Mary Lou Chambers, 77 years of age, of Pampa, Texas, joined her maker to live in eternal glory on Monday, April 24, 2023, in Pampa. She was born on August 4, 1945, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. At a young age, she and her younger sister were adopted and welcomed into the family of Dr. Alwin and Elsie Toensing.

Mary Lou graduated from High School in Hampton, Iowa. After losing her husband and going through some unexpected life events, she moved to Pampa to live with her sister and best friend, Jeannie, thirteen years ago. She was an amazing sister, mother, and grandmother with the most kind and loving heart that took wonderful care of her family. She and Jennie never argued in the thirteen years they lived together, and Jeannie felt honored to have her as a sister. Mary Lou was a very fun-loving child of Christ who strived to always keep Him first in her life with her family close behind. She enjoyed watching television, attending church, listening to country music and conversing with her friends. God created her a one-of-a-kind and she will be missed by all those close to her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald Teeselink; sister, Sally Bowen; brother-in-law, Ralph Hunter and a nephew, Frederick Hunter.

Those remain to carry on her love of life, are her sister and best friend, Jeannette “Jeannie” Hunter of Pampa, sisters, Sue Graves of Davenport, IA, Francis Christiansen of Danville, CA; children, Theresa Brunotte of Maple Grove, MN, Kimberly Smith of Carlyle, IL, Bernie Brunotte and wife Deb of Higbee, MO, Jeffery Teeselink and wife Katarina of Germany; a brother, Dr. Alwin B. Toensing and wife Dr. Patrice of Tuscan, AZ; 11 grandchildren, Nathan, Elizabeth, Nicholas, Heather, Kelsey, Zachary, Jerry, Rachel, Thalia, Matilda, Paula; 22 great-grandchildren and a plethora of nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Celebration of Life Memorial Services are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 29, 2023, at her church home, Zion Lutheran Church with Reverend Michael Erikson officiating. In honoring Mary Lou’s wishes, her remains will be laid to rest beside her husband, Don, at the Morningside Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Coon Rapids, Minnesota at a later date with her family present.
