Obituary for Kayleen Carol Dunn (Patterson)
Kayleen Carol Dunn, 83 years of age, passed from this life on Friday, June 11, 2021 at her home in Pampa. She was born to J.B. and Alma Patterson in Lynwood, California on December 25, 1937.
After moving to Pampa approximately 25 years ago, she made this her home. She worked primarily in the restaurant business as both a waitress and a cook as well as in motel management until her retirement. Kayleen loved to read the Bible and watch her Bible study programs on television. Although she tried to socialize and make friends, she was, in many ways in introvert and friendships were short-lived. Often times, she was quite a mess, could be fiercely hard-headed and even stubborn; however, she could also be amazingly sweet, loving and giving. As her family was her primary concern, she was a very devoted prayer warrior for each one of them.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Dunn; her parents; two daughters, Joe Ann Patton, Judy Jones; a son, David Maxwell; son-in-law, Orval Watts; granddaughter, Tera Ferguson; grandchild, Jayson Jones/Ariana Fox; great-granddaughter, Jandie Jones; brother-in-law, Dr. Harold Rinker.
Those whom Kayleen left behind to remember her are three daughters, Rhonda Watts of Pampa, Jonni Morriss of Maybank, Texas, Dolly Barter and husband Brad of Abilene; a brother, Keith Patterson and wife Sandy of Miami, TX; a sister, Janice Rinker of Arkansas; 14 grandchildren, Robert Presson, Marlena Roye, Jammie Ingram, J.J. Winborne, Gary Ferguson, Freddy Winborne, Ashley Bannister, Michael Norton, Lindsey Hill, Josh Foley, Luke Hinshaw, Zachery Winborne, Brady Roye, Jordan Jones and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In honor of Kayleen’s wishes, the family has opted not to hold any funeral services and they have entrusted the cremation care of their loved one to Winegeart Funeral Home.
