Julia Soto, 76 years old, of Pampa, passed away Sunday afternoon, February 23, 2020. She was born on May 2, 1943 to Julio Soto and Amelia Gonzales in Mexico.
She will always be remembered as very caring and compassionate and would help anyone she could in any way possible. Not only did she have a very caring personality, but it was also extremely strong, which at times, could be viewed as quite stubborn. Although Julia had been sick for twenty years, her strength, willingness to fight and perseverance allowed her to enjoy life as long as possible. Traveling, shopping, playing poker and cooking delicious food were her favorite hobbies. Being a very family-oriented person, she coveted the time she spent with all of her loved ones. Her grandkids especially meant the world to her and she loved them all very dearly.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters and one brother.
Julia left behind to carry on her loving memory, a husband, Rosalio Pizarro of Pampa; a son Pedro Soto of Mexico; two daughters, Merisela Pizarro of Pampa, Silvia Castanon and husband Jesus of California; one brother, Genaro Soto and wife Maria of Mexico; one sister, Lucina Soto of Mexico; eight grandchildren, Julio Pizarro, Julia Pizarro, Rachel Pizarro, Rene Castanon, Jacqueline Castanon, Christian Soto, Karen Soto, Alexander Soto and four great-grandchildren, Enrique Castanon, Crystal Castanon, Jr. Castanon and Mia Soto.
The family will host a Gathering of Family and Friends on Thursday, February 27, 2020 from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Winegeart Funeral Home.
Celebration of Life Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 28, 2020 at Iglesia Casa Del Alfarero with Pastor Augustine Vasquez officiating. The family has entrusted the cremation care of their loved one to Winegeart Funeral Home.
