Obituary for Judith Ann "Judy" Robertson (Mayer)

Judith Ann “Judy” Robertson, 79 years old, of Pampa, Texas, peacefully passed from this life into her eternal home in glory on Monday, September 26, 2022, while under hospice care at The Arbors in Amarillo with her devoted husband, Jim, at her side. Judy was born on February 9, 1943, in Nashville, Illinois to Earl and Mae Mayer.

Her family relocated to Pampa when Judy was two years old, and she had primarily lived her life here. She attended Pampa schools and was a proud Pampa Harvester. In 1975, she met her partner for life and married Jimmie Robertson. The two of them formed a bond that was grounded in values and respect. They never made decisions without the input and support of the other and for 47 years, they were quite a pair.

As the old saying goes, “dynamite comes in small packages,” and Judy was no different! Her small stature may fool you, but she could and would certainly hold her own and wasn’t afraid to speak her mind. She demanded respect and in turn, gave it back.

Before health robbed her of the capabilities, Judy loved to cook (but hated Jim’s cooking) and looked forward to day-long preparations of a homecooked meal, seasoned with love for her family. She cherished her kids, grandkids, two puppies and three kittens. Nothing fulfilled her life more than to enjoy family gatherings. Judy was blessed with a God given talent as an artist. She could draw and paint and also passed many hours with crochet hooks in hand creating heirlooms and works of art. Her love, creativity and feisty nature will be missed by so many who knew her.

Those who greeted her into eternity are her parents; a daughter, Jennifer Leah Sutton; brothers, Robert and Don Mayer.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jim Robertson of Pampa; sons, Damon Cox and wife Rachel of Pampa, Steven Robertson and wife Katheryn of Wiley, Bradley Robertson of the Dallas area; daughter, Karen Helms of Pampa; five grandchildren, Arika Dodson and husband Tyler, Jennifer Michelle, Mary Beth, Kori Lynn, Colton Leon, Christopher Turlington, Ashley Long and several great-grandchildren whom she doted on as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

In following her wishes, her body was donated to science for further study to help others. No services are scheduled at this time. The family asks that donations be made to The American Cancer Society, 1300 Summit Avenue, Fort Worth, TX 76102 or to Fresenius Kidney Care, 2545 Perryton Parkway, Pampa, TX 79065 in honor of Judy.
