Obituary for Janet Lea Robinson (Winegeart)

Janet Lea Robinson, 58, of Pampa, Texas, was reunited with loved ones early Saturday morning, March 19, 2022, while a patient at Legacy Rehabilitation in Amarillo. She made her grand entrance into this world on April 5, 1963, in Pampa, Texas to Mason and Barbara Winegeart.

Growing up, Janet attended Pampa schools and remained a resident of Pampa for the majority of her life. She found her groove in artistic roller skating which resulted in numerous awards reflecting her dedication and hard work. Janet was blessed beyond measure with a beautiful voice that sparked a love for music in her. She was generally found relaxing to easy listening, old country, and gospel.

She held no secrets and always spoke her mind – there was never any doubt where you stood with her, because she certainly wasn’t afraid to let you know! Never backing down and always holding her own, Janet was a fighter to the end. She didn’t know the meaning to the words “quite” or “give up”, it just wasn’t in her DNA. However, she was the biggest trash talker around and her humor was priceless. She loved to joke around as she found laughter to be the best medicine.

Family meals will never be quite the same without her cooking and baking. Janet’s rough exterior only sheltered her tender, loving heart inside. She was the first to help anyone in need, even when she didn’t have it to give. As a single mother raising kids, and although she was poor, she never missed a holiday feast, the children never went hungry and there was always a place for anyone to partake if needed. Janet was infamous for “taking in strays” regardless of it being the neighborhood kids, Robert and Jennifer’s friends, or an animal of any kind. Her tender heart was unparalleled and will forever be greatly missed.

Janet was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara McDowell; father, Mason Winegeart; husbands, Samuel Hoover and Allen Robinson; grandparents, Dolly and Fred Ferguson and Viola and W.M. Winegeart.

Those who remain to laugh at her shenanigans are her two children, Robert Hoover and fiancé Amber Haynes, Jennifer Montealvo and Carl Zackery Lee; brother, David Winegeart; sister, Brenda Winegeart; grandchildren, Payton Winegeart, Kirsti Winegeart, Joshua Pate, Ethan Pate, Owen Haynes, Emma Haynes; great-grandchildren, Ayven Ramos, Izan Ramos and a nephew, Brendan Ponce all of Pampa.

Janet will be available to pay respects on Wednesday, March 23rd from 1pm until 8pm and again Thursday, March 24th from 9am until 8pm with the family present to greet guests from 6 until 8pm at Winegeart Funeral Home, 303 N. Frost Street.

Should donations be a preference, Janet’s family suggests they be made to Winegeart Funeral Home New Building Fund, 303 N. Frost Street, Pampa, TX 79065 in honor of their loved one.

Celebration of Life Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 25, 2022, at Memory Gardens Cemetery Mausoleum with Brother Jim Sinyard officiating. The family has entrusted the care of their loved one to Winegeart Funeral Home.
