Obituary for Gary Lee Nolan

Gary Lee Nolan, 67 years of age, of Pampa, Texas, peacefully fell into eternal rest after a short battle with Covid on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, in Pampa. He was born on December 3, 1954, to James and Myrtle Nolan in Kansas City, Kansas.
Having been raised in Kansas City, Gary graduated from high school in 1973 and shortly afterwards at the age of 19, went to work for Phillips Petroleum. In 1985, the Kansas plant closed, and he was transferred to the Borger Refinery, so he opted to live in Pampa where he met his perfect mate, Eva Ledford. Following a short courtship, they married on August 24, 1985, and remained by each other’s side. Gary eventually retired from Phillips Petroleum in 1999 due to health reasons.
Gary was extremely loyal, a hard worker and an excellent provider. He was basically a big kindhearted teddy bear who couldn’t stand for others to go hungry or to do without the necessary essentials. He enjoyed watching sports, especially baseball and football and he loved the Kansas City Royals. A regular “Dr Doolittle”, he certainly had a way with animals – wild or tame. He literally fed squirrels from the palm of his hands in his back yard! Gary was one to constantly crack jokes to the point of wondering if he was serious or just pulling your leg. He was full of fun and laughter and will be missed by all who knew him.
He has joined in the Heavenly realm, his parents, a brother, Bob Nolan and a sister, Jo Ann Nolan.
Those he has left to remember his tender heart and humor are his wife of 36 years, Eva Nolan of Pampa; brother, Don Nolan of Casper, WY; sisters, Judy Ledom and husband Wesley of Prairie Village, KS, Kathy Kelley of Kansas City, KS; his child with paws, Maddy Lou and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Gary will be available to pay final respects on Thursday, December 9, 2021, from 4pm until 8pm and Friday morning from 9am until noon at Winegeart Funeral Home. The family will be located at 2520 Christine for those who would like to visit with them; however, masks are required please.
Celebration of Life Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00pm, Friday, December 10, 2021, at Faith Tabernacle Church with Pastor Ben Corbitt officiating. Burial will follow services at Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family has entrusted the care of their loved one to Winegeart Funeral Home.
Should donations in memory of Gary be a preference, the family suggests they be made to either Faith Tabernacle Church, 610 Naida Street, Pampa, TX 79065 or to a charity of your choice.
