Obituary for Elaine Carol Hampton (Cutsforth)

Elaine Carol Hampton, 72, of Pampa, Texas, was greeted in the warm embrace of her Lord and Savior on January 1, 2022, at Pampa Regional Medical Center surrounded by her four girls. Elaine began her journey in life when she was born on April 6, 1949, in Salem, Oregon, to Gary and Dorothy Cutsforth.
Mrs. Hampton was a woman of varied talents and led a life of service to her church and community. As a high school track star, she held a speed record in the 100-meter dash for many, many years. Leadership in other areas were the norm as Elaine also worked as a church camp leader and counselor. Turning her hobbies as a form of serving others, she baked, made crafts for her church, and sewed clothing for missionaries overseas. Her generosity, and disdain of conflict made her passive, but when on the few occasions she was riled up you knew her feelings without a doubt. Elaine was always putting others needs before her own. Family was always a priority and she loved attending church with her grandchildren and all her wonderful baked goods will be missed by all. Heaven also gained another avid gardener, and she will surely enjoy Heaven’s beauty and bounty.
Proceeding her in death were her husband, James Arthur Hampton and father, Gary Cutsforth.
Her passing will leave family and friends bereft without her warm and loving presence. She leaves her mother, Dorothy Cutsforth of Gervais, Oregon; brother, Arlen Cutsforth and wife Brenda of Yuma, Arizona; sisters, Diane Baker and husband Bill of Salem, Oregon; Joan Hoagland and husband Dave of Gervais, Oregon; stepson, Randy Hampton of Iowa; daughters, Kristy Hampton, of Keizer, Oregon; Gayle Hampton of Albany, Oregon, Emily Hampton of Crosbyton, Texas and April Hampton of Pampa, Texas. She was blessed as her family grew to include her grandchildren, James Hampton, Austin Donaldson, Kameron Hampton, and Robert Williams. Her extended family, nieces and nephews will also miss her greatly.
The family has entrusted the cremation arrangements and care to Winegeart Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Memorial Services are scheduled for 1:00pm, Friday, January 7, 2022, at The Redeemer Church with Pastor Jeremy Buck officiating. The family wishes to express many Thanks to Redeemer Church for their aid in this time of grief and in lieu of flowers donations be sent to Redeemer Church, 225 N Cuyler St, Pampa, Texas 79065, to help the family to return Mrs. Hampton to her home in Oregon for final internment. If you should wish to aid the family personally you may do so at venmo@kristy-hampton-8.
