Donna Eugenia Shipp, 64 years of age, of Pampa, Texas gained her angel wings to fly high in the Heavenly Realm with her beloved Savior on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at her home. She was born on October 17, 1957, in Cameron, Texas to Don and Clara Shipp.
She had moved to Pampa 17 years ago from Red Bay, Alabama and quickly fell in love with her new home. Blessed with a heart of pure gold, Donna had the utmost love and respect for, first and foremost, her Lord and Savior whom she loved with her whole heart to only be closely followed by her family. Always in the know, she contacted everyone on a regular basis to make sure all were doing well. And if they weren’t, well she did what she could, within her power, to help in any situation possible.
Able to bring laughter and humor to any situation, she knew no stranger. Often referred to as “Rose” on The Golden Girls, her fun-loving, caring and zest for life mentality will be missed oh so greatly!
Donna was known for her avid love of Angels, singing Christian hymns, watching old westerns and Lifetime, but more importantly, she was very much looked up to as a fighter and one with amazing strength. She had battled cancer for 18 years and beat it not only once, but twice! She was so much more than a mom, grandmother, sister…she was the greatest role model and warrior one could ever be blessed to look up to. Go rest sweet loved one!
Those who went on before her were her parents, a son, Michael Eugene McCain and her significant companion, Gene Gee.
Donna leaves to remember her love of life, a son, Oaty Don Scott and fiancé Jillian Daugherty of Oklahoma; a brother, Don Shipp, Jr of San Antonio; a sister, Debbie Perez and husband Rafael of Perryton; four grandchildren, Savanna McPherson, Mykal Scott, Donovan Sexton and David; six great-grandchildren, Eli and Lorenzo Chavez, Mykal Scott, Jr., Michaela and Jasper Scott and Jasper Sexton. Others that were extremely close to her are three nieces, Jennifer Perez, Misty Powell and Christy Shipp. Miss Donna will be sorely missed by many close family and friends who loved her dearly.
Should you wish to pay respects, Donna will be available at Winegeart Funeral Home, 303 N. Frost Street on Friday from 5-8pm, Saturday from 9am-8pm and again Sunday from 1-8pm.
Celebration of Life Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 22, 2022, at Redeemer Church, 225 N. Cuyler Street, Pampa with Pastor Jeremy Buck officiating. Donna will be laid to rest shortly following at 1:30 p.m., in Perryton, TX at Ochiltree Cemetery.
