Obituary for Donald Eugene "Don" Creason

Donald Eugene “Don” Creason, 75, of Pampa, peacefully left this life in the early morning hours of Sunday, July 11, 2021, at Pampa Regional Medical Center in Pampa, Texas. He was born on June 21, 1946, to Thomas and Alma Creason in Hastings, Nebraska.

Growing up, Don attended school in Commerce City, Colorado. On February 3, 1992, in Golden, Colorado, he married his companion and best friend, Jimmie Louise Gordon and together they built an amazing life and blended family. Several years ago, when they were a bit younger, they enjoyed going camping and boating together. He was never too ashamed or shy to show his affection for her and not a night went by in their 29 years of marriage that “I love you” wasn’t spoken before bed.

Never one to sit still, Don could be found working in a variety of different capacities whether it be working in his yard, mowing, planting flowers and trees, or weeding the flower beds. Maybe he was piddling with an old car - cleaning and tuning her up or fixing something broken. Or perhaps he was being Mr. Fixit and overhauling items around the house that needed attention, but then again, he could have been doing some of his DIY home improvement projects as well! Not to mention, Don had been a locksmith for over 20 years, so he helped many people get out of a bind at a moment’s notice.

Of Don’s many talents, one that the family will be able to enjoy for years to come as they recall his monumental stories, was his uncanny ability to fabricate amazing tall tales about anything that more often than not, left his audience questioning if fact or fiction!? He could spin a hilarious story at the drop of a hat, out of thin air, that left a crowd in stitches. His family and friends will certainly miss his comedian and zany ways, but more importantly, they will long for his love as he will be greatly missed by many.

Those who greeted him as he entered into eternity were his parents; stepfather, Elvin Hill; brother, Larry Creason; brother-in-law, Mel Manninen; grandson, Matthew Hall and granddaughters, Caitlyn Campbell, and Michela Hall.

Don leaves to embrace his love and laughter, his kindred spirit and true love, Louise Creason of the home; two sons, Donnie Creason, Jr of Oregon, Wesley Warling and wife Kate of Colorado; two daughters, Nichole Creason and husband Greg Ransom of Michigan, Jamie Hall and husband Chad of Colorado; four sister, Judy Manninen of Texas, Joanne Vigil and husband Leroy of Colorado, Sandra Showalters and husband Steve of Minnesota, Robbie Hudson of Colorado; six grandchildren, Justin Creason, Tierany Creason, Mason Hall, Devin Warling, Sunny Ransom, Savannah Warling; five great-grandchildren, William Hall, Maverick Hall, Berkleigh Creason, Jaxtyn Creason, Ayden Creason, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members as well as his two cats, Miss Kitty and Spanky.

Celebration of Life Memorial Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 17, 2021, at Highland Baptist Church with Brother Paul Nachtigall officiating. The family has entrusted the cremation care of their loved one to Winegeart Funeral Home.

If donations are a preference, the family suggests they be made to Pampa Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), P.O. Box 2095, Pampa, TX 79066-2095 in memory of Don.
