Carla Jo Newman, only 40 years of age, of Pampa, Texas, peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, March 6, 2022, at Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo, Texas. She was born on December 1, 1981, in Pampa, Texas to Norman and Brenda Newman.
Having graduated from Pampa High School in 2001, Carla had been a resident of Pampa most of her life. For the past 16 years, she was a devoted employee of Wal-Mart in various different capacities and most recently as an ACC Service Writer. Carla enjoyed her job and more importantly, she dearly loved her Wal-Mart family.
When Carla wasn’t working, she could most often be found with a book in hand, engrossed in a movie, playing a game of some sort, or talking to her twin sister on the phone about the goings on of the day. Due to her whimsical and often times ornery nature, taking her seriously was not an easy task, until she had to prove how serious the situation truly was!
Of all things important to Carla, family topped the list. She was her dad’s best helper, and he could count on her assistance on any task that came about. She absolutely adored her nieces and nephews and looked forward to family gatherings. Another of her favorite leisure activities was traveling. Not necessarily to any particular place, sometimes she and her dad would just hit the road on their days off. Other times, she might go see her twin sister in El Reno.
Carla joined her precious momma, Brenda Sue Newman; grandmother, JoAnne Stover; grandfather, Jack Mark; Aunt Rene’e Woods; Uncle Dwyane Short and Uncle Billy Annis to spend eternity together.
She left here to carry on her streak of orneriness her best bud and dad, Norman Newman of Pampa; twin sister, Camilla Harris and husband Thomas of El Reno, OK; sisters, Tabitha Winkler of Burleson, TX, Kimberly Newman of Pampa; five nieces and nephews, Kade Winkler and wife Kate of Thorndale, TX, Cheyenne Winkler, Sierra Winkler both of College Station, Emma Harris, Tyson Harris both of El Reno, OK; a great-nephew, Bronc Winkler and many cousins, aunts, uncles and extended family members whom she deeply loved.
Carla will be available to pay respects on Tuesday, March 8th from 2pm until 8pm and again on Wednesday, March 9th from 9am until 8pm at Winegeart Funeral Home.
Celebration of Life Memorial Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday March 26, 2022 at The Carpenter's Church, 639 Barnes St., Pampa, TX with Brother Jim Sinyard officiating.
