Obituary for Arlene Mazie Styles (Heatherly)

Arlene Mazie Styles, 69, of Lefors, Texas, went to be with the Lord peacefully while she slept on Tuesday, September 20, 2022. Arlene was born on October 15, 1952, to parents, Albert and Peggy Heatherly in Hendersonville, North Carolina.

Arlene loved the Lord, people, and nature. She was quick to tell people that she loved them, and that they were loved by Jesus. She was creative, eclectic, and sometimes a bit spunky. She moved from Hendersonville to Lefors about 20 years ago. It didn’t take long for the small community to notice that she was a special person. Eventually, she opened the Hillbillies Hoard as an extension to the House of Lefors and the Free-for-Alls. Each of which are missionary based outreach programs that Arlene established to benefit the citizens of Lefors and the surrounding communities.

She was the first to admit her failures, but she chose the grace, forgiveness, and hope that God gives, and pushed forward. Always ready to laugh, cry, or pray with those who needed it. She was diligent in carrying out her service to the Lord right until He peacefully took her home. She lived her life for that glorious moment. Arlene put herself aside often and tried to glorify Him with her life.

Arlene had an old doll she had gotten out of the trash. She cleaned it up and used it as a story to illustrate what the Lord did for her. He had done such a work in her, and she wanted others to experience that place of His grace. Arlene’s smile, welcoming hugs, and grandeur love will be missed by all whose lives she had the privilege of touching.

She is preceded in death by her dad, and sisters, Kathy Heatherly and Sherry Patton.

She leaves behind her three children, Athena Frederick and husband Paul of Seattle, WA, Adam Walker and wife Catherine of Jacksonville, NC, Mark Walker and wife April of Hendersonville, NC; her mother, Peggy Heatherly of Hendersonville, NC; a brother, Jeff Heatherly of Albemarle, NC; two sisters, Bobbi Heatherly Jackson of Hendersonville, NC, Rosemary Davis of Concord, NC; eight grandchildren, Taylor Frederick, William Frederick, Daniel Walker, Mary Walker, Hannah Walker, Abigail Walker, Elijah Walker and Madison Walker as well as many more family and friends.

Arlene leaves behind a legacy of love and service.

The family welcomes anyone who would like to pay respects to Arlene, to visit Winegeart Funeral Home, 303 N Frost, Pampa on Saturday, September 24th from 2-4 pm.

Celebration of Life Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Sunday, September 25th, 2022, at The Plow (an open-air chapel at The House of Lefors Mission) of Lefors, 206 E 2nd Street, Lefors with her son, Adam Walker officiating. She will be laid to rest following her celebration at the Memorial Heights Cemetery of Lefors. The family has entrusted the care of their loved one to Winegeart Funeral Home.
