Obituary for Andrea Joyce "Andy" Reed (Davis)
Andrea Joyce “Andy” Reed, 73 years old, of Pampa, entered eternal rest Tuesday, October 19, 2021, while in Pampa Regional Medical Center. She was born on June 20, 1948, in the old Worley Hospital of Pampa, Texas.
Known to follow the beat of her own drum, Andy was very much a free spirit and lived life on her own terms. Not a bad trait, she knew what she liked and didn’t…and she didn’t want to be a hinderance to anyone. She was very kindhearted and would never intentionally harm anyone and was especially drawn to small children, perhaps due to her own childlike personality, which allowed her to join them in their unique universe. She loved being outdoors, especially camping and fishing at the lake while enjoying the wide-open space. She amazed family and friends with her self-taught artistic talents in her beautiful crochet and needlework. Andy’s originality and kindness will be missed by many who knew and loved her.
Those of her loved ones who preceded her in death are her parents, Alfred Lee Davis and Dorothy Rose Worley; a daughter, Carolyn White and a brother, Bill Davis.
Andy is survived by a son, D.L. Shipley and wife Becky of Pampa; a brother, Al Davis of Plano; sister, Becky Cota and husband Bob of Amarillo; grandchildren, Casey Evans and wife Krista, Tiffany Pearson and husband Michael, Jonathan White, Andrew White, Ashtynn Shipley, Raven Shipley, Joel Cummings, Austin Cummings as well as Kris Reed, Jessica Reed, Nathan Velasquez and Alexiz Velasquez whom Andy played a roll in helping to raise for a portion of their childhood; ten great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
In staying true to Andy’s wishes, following cremation, the family will host Celebration of Life Graveside services at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 14, 2021, at Memorial Heights Cemetery in Lefors, TX. The family has entrusted the cremation care of their loved one to Winegeart Funeral Home.
