Obituary for Alinet LaDean Oxley (Ellis)

Alinet LaDean Oxley, 71 years old, of Pampa, Texas, peacefully passed away at her home with her loving husband at her side on Tuesday, August 30, 2022. She was very proud to have been born the fifth child of eleven children to Ernest and Velda Ellis in the old Worley Hospital in Pampa.

Alinet was a Pampa native and had resided here most of her life. She attended Pampa schools and graduated with the Class of ‘69’. Following that, she took several business courses and put them to good use as a bookkeeper for Chief Plastic for about 20 years before working as a secretary at Caldwell Producers for a few years. Having a knack with numbers, she also helped prepare many peoples taxes over the years. Most recently, while being “retired”, she worked alongside her husband, Kelly, doing paperwork for him while also enjoying each other’s company.

Being a woman of simplicity, she found amazing beauty in butterflies, owls, majestic castles, and Montana. Some of her favorite times and memories revolved around camping, fishing, and riding four wheelers with her family. She was a hard worker, but she also knew how to enjoy life and play hard as well. She could do almost anything and was top notch at cooking, sewing, quilting, yardwork and keeping up with all the family. She was the one that reached out on birthdays, anniversaries, and special occasions because she just remembered all the dates!

One to be very attentive, an independent thinker and even a bit opinionated, she could be very outspoken when the subject of politics, elections or taxes arose. She has been known to write a “few” letters to the editor of the paper and some were even returned without being published! But more than that, she was a very pleasant, giving and loving person with a big smile and very kind heart who will be missed immensely.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Stacey Stubbs, Elizabeth Jan Wood, Margaret Ann Hulsey; two brothers, Stephen Ellis, Keldon Terry Ellis and a brother-in-law, Roy Taylor.

Alinet has left behind a vast family to carry on her memories consisting of her husband, Kelly Oxley of Pampa; four children, Cheryl Lynn Wolfe and husband Mark of Farmington, NM, Justin Oxley and wife Christina of California, Jerid Oxley of Amarillo, Jennifer Eberting and husband Andrew of Kentucky; three brothers, Kedron Ellis of Portland, OR, Weldon Ellis and wife Brenda of New Braunfels, David Ellis and wife Olga of Amarillo; two sisters, Kathy Taylor of Rogers, NM, Marsha Lermon and husband Mike of Rosharon; five grandchildren Cydnee Wolfe and husband Jesus Becerra, Stormy Lapahie and husband Zack, Chyana Conniff and husband Brodrick, Andie Eberting and Audrey Eberting; two great-grandchildren, Snowy Lapahie, Chesaray Conniff; brothers-in-law, Eugene Stubbs of Pampa, William Wood of Pampa, Gordon Hulsey of White Deer; sister-in-law, Rita Ellis of Pampa; her two fur babies, Roxy and Bubba and many, many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members as well as close friends.

She will be available to pay last respects on Thursday, September 1st from 5-8 pm at Winegeart Funeral Home, 303 N. Frost Street and again on Friday morning from 9-noon.

Celebration of Life Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Friday, September 2, 2022, at The Carpenter’s Church, 639 Barnes Street, Pampa with Brother Jim Sinyard officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family has entrusted the care of their loved one to Winegeart Funeral Home.

If memorials are a preference, the family suggests they be made to The Carpenter’s Church, 639 Barnes Street, Pampa, TX 79065 in honor of Alinet.
